Noake Farmhouse B&B
Noake Farmhouse is set in a secluded rural location down a lane on a working farm but is only two miles from the local pub and village shop. Dogs are very welcome at no extra cost, there are plenty of great walks from the house and in the local area, the beautiful Jurassic Coast is only a 40 minute drive away. We offer full English breakfast using local ingredients and will happily cater for all diets including vegan and any allergies.
We have two lovely bedrooms overlooking the fields, both double rooms with a large shared bathroom, great for friends and family travelling together, or one room can be booked with sole use of the bathroom if preferred. There is also a large private guest sitting room and dining room which guests can use at their leisure.
We are within easy driving distance of Dorchester and Sherborne and much closer to home there are plenty of pubs and cafes serving great food and drink.
About Noake Farmhouse B&B
There are two very comfortable bedrooms, one with double bed, one with king size bed. Both bedrooms are overlooking the garden and fields.
There is a modern bathroom with tub bath and large separate shower, this is shared between both bedrooms. If guests prefer not to share the bathroom with others, one room can be booked with exclusive use of the bathroom, the other bedroom will not be let.
There are TVs in both rooms and free WiFi.
Dogs are very welcome, we have three of our own, but please remember we are on a working farm so leads and caution are necessary in some areas.
The large guest sitting room has a TV and DVD player with plenty of space to get comfy on the sofas. The adjoining guest dining room is where we serve breakfast and can also be used by guests at their leisure. Guests can also make tea and coffee here whenever they like.
We do not provide any facilities for children as standard but please contact us to discuss if necessary to see if we can help.
The local area and things to do
There are lots of walks from the house and nearby, also plenty of country lanes for cycling (we can provide undercover storage for bikes). You can walk to the local pubs across the fields and there are some great local cafes and eateries nearby.
There is a small private coarse fishing lake on the farm which can be used by guests free of charge by appointment.
Noake Farmhouse is twelve miles from Dorchester (Hardy’s Casterbridge) where there are lots of restaurants and shops, cafes and pubs. Prince Charles’ Poundbury is also there and the Roman fort Maiden Castle is on the edge of Dorchester – a great place for a walk and fantastic views.
Sherborne is ten miles from Noake Farmhouse and is home to the stunning Abbey and Castles. Sherborne has plenty of beautiful architecture, independent cafes and pubs and is well worth a visit.
Only six miles away is the valley village of Cerne Abbas, home to the famous Cerne Giant on the hill. It is a lovely place for a walk with three friendly pubs and a café to choose from for a pint or a coffee afterwards.
The stunning Jurassic Coast is 40 minutes away and the jewel in the crown of Dorset. There are beautiful coastal walks and plenty of opportunities for a refreshing swim from one of the pebble beaches at Osmington Mills, Ringstead Bay, Durdle Door or Lulworth Cove.
